You can enjoy a wide variety of activities during your stay with us - all within a short drive, or in some cases a short walk, of Swallows Return. A selection of just some of the things to do in cavan are outlined below. We can also provide further information and assist in booking any activity you are interested in during your stay with us. Farnham Estate Spa
Conveniently located just a 5 minute stroll away is the Farnham Estate Spa. Take time to relax and unwind. With facilities such as an infinity pool, Water mint thermal suite and Aroma steam bath to mention few,.
Canoeing / Kayaking
Kayak and canoe hire is available from Carratraw bridge, a 10 minute direct drive from Swallows Return. The winding rivers and lakes in the area make for beautiful and interesting routes for all watersports.
Boating & Sailing
Sit back, relax, wine, dine and enjoy the stunning views through 3 hours or more of cruising down the beautiful river Erne on The Woodford Explorer with the Erne Pleasure Cruising company.
Golfing
We are literally surrounded by the beautiful Farnham Estate Golf Course between the 11th tee off and the 17th fairway. The clubhouse is a short 5 minute walk down the road, no need to drive!
Horse Riding
We welcome riders and families who are competing or travelling to Cavan Equestrian Centre to stay in Swallows Return. Trekking is also available for all levels of riders with Woodford Stables on their beautiful farm.
Fishing
County Cavan is famed for its abundance of lakes. Over 365 of them in fact. There are many fine game angling river stretches and wild brown trout lake fisheries to choose from locally.
Nature Walks
County Cavan is a walker’s paradise.Swallows Return is located on a quiet country road. Walks lead you through the back holes of the Farnham Estate Golf Course and to two lakes, all within one mile.
